Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city experienced significant strikes overnight. A young boy died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks come after evenings of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

He said utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
